Comply Medium-density fibreboard (MDF)
Description
Comply Industries Ltd: Comply Medium-density fibreboard (MDF)
Comply MDF (Medium Density Fibreboard) is an engineered wood panel made from hardwood and softwood residuals combined with wax and resin binder, formed under high temperature and pressure into dense, uniform sheets. The board’s homogeneous structure, with no natural grain direction, makes it ideal for routing, profiling, and painting to precise specifications across furniture, cabinetry, interior panelling, and architectural millwork applications. As an engineered product manufactured from plantation timber residuals, it converts wood processing by-products into a high-value building material.
Technical Specifications
- Material composition: Wood fibres (hardwood/softwood residuals) bonded with synthetic resin and wax
- Manufacturing process: High temperature and pressure compression
- Board characteristics: Uniform density throughout, smooth surfaces on both faces, no grain direction
- Applications: Furniture, cabinetry, interior panelling, skirting boards, mouldings, shelving, shop fitting
- Machinability: Suitable for CNC routing, edge profiling, drilling, and precision cutting
- Finish compatibility: Accepts paint, veneer, laminate, and foil wrapping
Sustainability Features
- Manufactured from wood processing residuals, converting waste streams into usable building material
- Plantation timber sourcing from Comply’s managed forests in Nakuru County
- Reduces demand for solid hardwood in furniture and interior fit-out applications
- Locally manufactured, supporting Kenya’s wood products value chain
