Tegosolar Photovoltaic Roofing Shingles
Description
Italbuild Group LTD: tegola canadese Tegosolar Photovoltaic Roofing Shingles
Tegosolar photovoltaic roofing shingles by Tegola Canadese are building-integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) modules that replace conventional roofing while generating clean electricity. Unlike traditional bolt-on solar panels, these flexible thin-film shingles integrate directly into the roof surface, eliminating the need for mounting frames and preserving the building’s architectural profile. The triple-junction amorphous silicon cells (UNI-SOLAR technology) deliver consistent energy output even under partial shading, high temperatures, and diffuse light conditions, producing 10 to 20% more kWh per watt-peak annually compared to conventional crystalline silicon panels. With no glass components, the shingles are lightweight, walkable, and non-reflective, making them suitable for both new construction and retrofit projects across residential, commercial, and industrial buildings.

Sustainability Features
- Generates on-site renewable electricity, directly offsetting grid dependence and fossil fuel consumption
- Energy payback period of 1 to 2 years, meaning the module produces far more energy over its lifespan than was used to manufacture it
- Replaces conventional roofing material entirely, reducing total material use compared to roof-plus-panel systems
- No glass content eliminates breakage risk and reduces embodied energy relative to crystalline panel assemblies
- ETFE coating is chemically inert, UV-stable, and does not degrade into harmful compounds
- Manufactured under ISO 14001 environmental management certification
- Non-reflective surface avoids glare pollution for surrounding buildings and aviation corridors
- Equivalent energy offset: each square metre of active roof surface displaces approximately 1.5 barrels of oil equivalent annually
