Ottocento is Oikos’s signature decorative paint, in production since 1998, designed to reproduce the light-shifting appearance of velvet on interior walls. Formulated from water-dispersed resins with organic, inorganic, and special metallic pigments, the product changes character depending on the angle at which light hits the surface, creating a two-tone depth that ranges from soft fabric textures to structured linen and silk effects. With 16 distinct application techniques available, from the classic Antico Velluto trowel finish to the textured Turandot hemp effect, a single product serves a wide range of decorative outcomes. Ottocento holds a French A+ emissions classification (the highest rating under the Decree of the Official French Gazette, 19 April 2011), confirming very low pollutant emissions into indoor air, and its water-based formulation is free from heavy metals, toxic solvents, and aromatic compounds.
